Week 4 – Term 2 2022

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN)

LIS students in years 3, 5 and 7 have completed the NAPLAN tests this week. School and student results will be disseminated to families next term after results have been returned to the school. Thanks to Ms Langusch for coordinating the tests.

National Exam Preparation

School to Mine Campus teachers have begun the National Exam preparation classes for year 8 and 10 on Saturdays and Sundays. ALL STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend the sessions. Thanks to the STM teachers for coordinating this important program.

High School Absenteeism

Some high school students have been unnecessarily absent from school. Students and parents are reminded of the importance of coming to school every day, especially when preparing for National Examinations. If a child is sick or has another legitimate reason for being absent, then an explanatory note or email to the class teacher is required.

Managing Children’s use of Devices and Social Media

Many parents struggle with reducing the time their children spend on electronic devices and social media. The Google Family Link app is a good resource to help parents administer their children’s devices and apps. School Council

This term’s School Council meeting will be held on Thursday 17th June at 6pm in the 9/10 classroom.
